Welcome. I'm Robin and my husband, Richard Shepard, were married in 1985. We have
three children, all boys! Sorry I don't have a pic of Rich on the page as of yet, but he works 7
days a week and it seems like I do with the dogs! It seems like the only time we see each
other is at night. I'm sure a lot of you know how that goes. My oldest son; Derek, age 21; has
moved out of the home leaving his two brothers; Dan, 19, and Dusty, 17; behind.
I had been grooming my own dogs since 1984 and started working as a groomer at Pampered
Pets in my town in 2003. My boss gave me the chance to learn the rest of the doggy cuts on
the job and it came very easy for me. In 2004 we attended a NDGAA conference in Kansas
City, MO and decided we wanted to become certified in the different groups so that we could
eventually become National Certified Master Groomers. So home we went and for the next
year we studied and practiced on our first "test" dogs which were two of my cockers, as it was
the Sporting Group we were going to tackle first. Well, that next year I did it and passed! So,
for the next year I began studying and practicing on a schnauzer for the Terrier Group. In
2006, I passed again with flying colors! During 2007 I passed the Non-Sporting group and
then in 2008 I recieved my National Certified Master Groomer Certification and couldn't be
more thrilled. Currently I am the only one in Northwest Oklahoma.!
I have owned cocker spaniels since 1982 and only recently developed the "show bug". We
became StormBeau Cockers in 2003 after attaining our first show dog, Stormy. Our kennel
name is derived from both our first showdog's name, Storm, plus the name of my very first
cocker spaniel, Beau.
Currently we only have 6 dogs, two of which are Champions,one pet, and three potential
showdogs. Stormy is also a CGC and Therapy dog as is my pet, Cookie. We have not
owned Carmen long enough to get her tested but plan to do so in the future. Soon Stormy will
be adding Rally to his repitoire as we will be starting classes soon.
